Rules

How it works

1. There is one current Last Word: one public paid message.
2. The highest eligible payment confirmed by Dodo Payments controls it.
3. The first Last Word costs at least $1. After that, the minimum is the current valid price plus $1.
4. You can intentionally pay more than the minimum.
5. Two equal eligible bids are ordered by the earliest confirmed successful payment; bid ID breaks an exact timestamp tie.

Payments

• Every bid is a full new payment. Previous payments are not credited. Cumulative spend does not win.
• Opening or returning from checkout does not win. The payment must be successfully confirmed by Dodo Payments.
• Pending, failed and cancelled payments do not qualify. Refunded, reversed and ineligible disputed payments stop qualifying.
• A payment can be overtaken immediately and guarantees no minimum display time, permanence, traffic, clicks, customers, revenue or return.
• A current participant can pay again with a new message. Their continuous ownership time is preserved if they remain first, while the new message is added to history.

What you can say

Short, lawful, low-risk opinions and internet-culture statements are welcome—for example, product preferences, creative claims or “AI is overhyped.” Messages are plain text, one line, and at most 100 characters. The website is separate from the message.

What you cannot say

Prohibited content includes hateful or discriminatory content; extremist or terrorist figures, organizations, praise, recruitment or propaganda; abusive, harassing or threatening content; violence or self-harm encouragement; sexual or exploitative content; religious propaganda, conversion attempts or sectarian provocation; privacy violations and doxxing; scams, phishing, fraud or impersonation; serious defamatory accusations; malware, spam, and illegal or dangerous commerce.

Attempts to evade moderation through spelling, symbols, spacing, mixed scripts or coded references are also prohibited. We do not publish exhaustive dictionaries. Do not put HTML, Markdown or URLs in the message.

Websites must be public HTTP(S) destinations. No localhost, internal/private network destination, dangerous scheme, credential-bearing URL, or unauthorized identity. You must be 18+ and authorized to use every submitted name, site and logo.

Moderation

Messages are checked before checkout. Safety takes priority over conversion. Automated systems can reject or route uncertain content for review and may be imperfect. We do not disclose exact block rules. You may edit and retry safe content.

When a message is removed

We may hide, remove, restore or disqualify content for safety, legal, payment-provider or operational reasons. The harmful text disappears, but necessary financial chronology remains with “Message removed for violating content rules.” If the current message becomes ineligible, the next eligible bid becomes current. A removal is not an automatic refund.

Refunds

Payments are generally final once placement begins, except where a refund is required by law, required by the payment provider, or approved by the operator. Mandatory consumer rights remain. A completed refund or reversal makes that payment ineligible.

Reporting, history and endorsement

Current and historical content can be reported for hate, violence, harassment, sexual content, scams, impersonation, privacy, defamation, provocation or another concern. Payment buys placement only: it is not truth, endorsement, verification, quality, recommendation or certification.
